Recently, DEW Construction, in conjunction with David May and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Jeffersonville, spearheaded a returnable bottle and can drive at DEW's main office and jobsites. The money raised is being put towards the Matthew Mazzola Spinal Injury fund. The fund was created with hopes of purchasing a special wheelchair that costs about $40,000 for Matthew Mazzola (quadriplegic), a young man who was injured in a swimming accident. The new wheel chair will greatly improve his ability to move around.
DEW started the Volunteer of Year award in order to recognize employees who give back to their communities. The winner has their name etched onto a plaque that is prominently displayed in DEW's main office and receives a check for $250.
