AWARDS AND HONORS

In its 10 years of business, DEW Construction has accumulated several honors and awards both through its construction work and its community involvement, including:

  • Governor’s Workplace Safety Award 2004 - for exceptional workplace safety efforts.
  • 5x5x5 Growth Awards - The 5x5x5 Awards recognize the five fastest growing Vermont-based businesses over the last five years in five industrial sectors. DEW was selected for the construction industry in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
  • In April 2004, DEW Construction became the first contractor in the United States to participate in Federal OSHA's SHARP (Safety Health and Achievement Recognition Program). DEW now has seven recognized SHARP projects.

  • Better Buildings by Design 2004 – Innovation in Integrated Design/Project Participant – for recognition of participation on the project that was awarded the most innovative approach to integrate energy efficiency improvements into a comprehensive, high-performance design. DEW was the contractor for Northern Power Systems New Headquarters. Presented by Efficiency Vermont.
  • DEW has received 6 AGC of Vermont Best Builders Awards for Outstanding Quality of Work and Effort in:

    • Building New Construction, Institutional, Army Aviation Support Facility & Readiness Center (2007),
    • Building Renovation, Academia for UVM Wing/Davis/Wilks Residence Complex (2006),
    • Building Environmental "Green" New Construction for the Sharon Information Center (2005),
    • Building Academia for The Putney School's Michael S. Currier Center (2004),
    • Building/Renovation for Norwich University’s Crawford Hall (2003),
    • and Specialty Construction for the Huseby House at the Putney School (1999).
  • The Associated General Contractors of Vermont awarded DEW Construction the Educational Frontier Award in 2007, 2003, and 2002. This award represents superior volunteer leadership that provides a solid base of educational programs that prepare tomorrow’s constructors and educational partners for the future.
  • DEW has been consecutively awarded the Associated General Contractors of Vermont Contractor’s Safety Pays Award for Excellence in Construction safety.
  • The company was awarded the 2000 Waste Reduction Award by the Chittenden Solid Waste District for outstanding performance to reduce, reuse and recycle at the corporate office and at construction and renovation projects in Chittenden County and throughout Vermont.
